I love everything about herb teas…almost. I love growing them, harvesting them and–of course–drinking them. The only thing I do not like is cleaning the tea leaves out of my metal strainer. They are forever getting stuck in the strainer or clogging up the drain in the sink. Well, no more! Now you can buy tea filters that work just like tea bags. You simply fill them with a couple spoons of your loose tea and you are ready to steep. The bags I bought are made out of abaca pulp, cellulose and sealing fibre and are chlorine-free and biodegradable which means I can pop them into my compost bucket tea leaves and all. Got to love that! Pair a box of tea filters with a jar of your own signature blend of dried herb tea for a great gift.
These are the filters I bought but I picked up mine at a local kitchen shop for $5.99 Canadian. Amazon appears to be sold out at the moment so the link below takes you to a private seller who is charging $24.99!!!!! I only included the link so you know what they look like. If you click on it you will see that Amazon does offer them for $5.99 as well–when they have them in stock. They must be a very popular item!
